The FAQs About Aluminum Facade Cladding

Aluminum facades, or curtain walls, are exterior building systems that use aluminum frames to support glass, metal, or other cladding solutions.

Aluminium is known for its strength and resilience, making it an excellent choice for cladding materials. It can withstand harsh weather conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds, and extreme temperatures, without losing its structural integrity.

Of course, the aluminum cladding material is sustainable, meeting sustainability criteria in green (environmentally friendly) building practices. It is specific, quantified, and reduces the project’s construction footprint.

With regular maintenance and inspections, it can last for 20+ years or even longer.

Aluminum inherently possesses a protective oxide coating, which makes it resistant to corrosion and, by extension, water.

However, two common and popular aluminum cladding systems are aluminum sidings and aluminum composite panels known as ACM panels or ACP materials. Both cladding systems are beneficial for current construction projects.

The standard ACP sheet sizes are 1200mm x 2400mm, 1200mm x 3060mm, and 1220mm x 3600mm. Talking about thickness, it is between 4mm to 6mm.

Although aluminum metal cladding does not generally require frequent maintenance, regular inspection and cleaning are essential for optimal performance and appearance. Minor issues can be corrected through routine maintenance so that the cladding system will remain in good condition long into the future without losing its visual appeal.
